We had a great World Book Day! We were visited by a storyteller who was washing the pants of fairy tale characters and helped us tell some familiar stories. Then later on some children from Year 5 came to read us our favourite books.
We discovered something strange in the tunnel when we came back to Nursery today - footprints and slime! Some think it might be a monster, others a troll... we will have to wait and see! We read the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff to give us a clue to who it might be.
We have had a fantastic People who help us week! We were visited by Robin (our site manager) and Rosie (our lollipop lady) as well as Amelle's mum who works in housing. We also met a fire fighter, a vet and three police officers! One of the highlight of the week was definitely getting to sit in the police car! Thank you to all our visitors - have a lovely half term.
This week we enjoyed learning all about Chinese New Year. We performed dragon dances, ate our snack with chopsticks and made our own Chinese lanterns!
We have really enjoyed reading The Jolly Postman this week and loved playing in the post office and writing letters. The children told us all about the fireworks they saw at the weekend and were busy in the creative area making their own rockets.
We were really proud of Nursery when they walked to the postbox on Monday and hope they enjoyed receiving their postcards this week!
We have begun learning the story of the Little Red Hen this week - give it a go at home using the story map in the photos and see if your child can tell it to you! We have particularly enjoyed playing on the hobby horses in the garden, mixing the oats and making gloop from the cornflour.
