On Monday 12th May, we practiced part of a routine and then added our own!

Reading with our Year 6 buddies:

Inspiring us to read more confidently!

Reading!

On Friday 28th April, we celebrated Terry Pratchett Day by watching the Puffin Live event in the afternoon. We heard parts of the book re aloud by different actors, learned how to speak Scottish (like the Wee Free Men!) and took part in a draw along activity- check out Lily and Sarah's drawings below!

Mountain Adventure Freeze Frames!

We are learning to exchange when subtracting, so we fully understand the column method! Here are some photos of us using deines to subtract 2 digit numbers from 2 and 3 digit numbers:

We are investigating magnetic force in Science. Look what we realised we could do!

Our LEGO STEM challenge cards activity

Reading Balloon!

Well done to everyone for improving their reading over last half term. Everyone made it out of the basket and lots of you managed to reach the green section- well done!

This half term, we all go back into the basket and hopefully we will all make it to the yellow section when we break up for Easter!

Team Building in PE:

We created our own team games, using different PE resources and taught another group how to play our game!

Topic- Stone Monuments:

On Friday 11th November, Year 3 spent the day learning all about Stone Monuments from the Bronze Age onwards! We investigated where stone monuments are located in the UK and what different types there could be, as well as drawing our own.

Linking with our shape topic in Maths, we created cylinders, cubes and cuboids from nets and combined these to make our very own Stonehenge!

On No Pen Day, we made shapes out of our bodies and elastics!

Our Natural Skeletons

Skittles

Thank you to all the children and families who have looked after Skittles this half term! Miss Honour is taking him home and will update his diary to share with you the exciting things he's been up to after the holiday!

Year 3's School Trip!

On Tuesday, Year 3 visited Chiltern Open Air Museum to extend their learning about the Stone Age and the book ‘Wolf Brother’. We had lots of fun, visiting an Iron Age Roundhouse, looking at Stone Age artefacts and meeting the Deer Mage. We pretended to hunt a deer and learned all about what people in the Stone Age would have used the deer for. We were lucky enough to make and bring home with us spears and a leather spirit amulet!

We've been learning all about money!

Here are our scenes from 'Wolf Brother'!

Welcome to Year 3!

Year 3 have enjoyed the start of the new school year and their first in the Juniors! Keep checking our page to see what exciting things we've been getting up to.
