The Government provides schools with funding in order to improve the provision of physical education and sport in primary schools. The funding is based on the numbers of pupils in Years 1 - 6. Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best way of using the money. For example, we could use our funding to:
- provide CPD for staff to improve knowledge and confidence in delivering PE lessons
- improve teaching resources and equipment
- increase the provision of clubs for the least active children
- increasing pupil participation in competitions and in the School Games
