The feelings we have looked at this half-term are:
Seals Class have had a very busy start to Year 4. Here are some of the highlights of their first half-term in Year 4.
Art
Our Art unit this half-term has focused on collage. The children explored the work of a range of collage artists and experimented with different collage techniques, including layering, tearing and cutting. They then applied these techniques to create collage cupcakes in preparation for their final piece of artwork: a cake stand filled with a selection of collage sweet treats.

Science
In Science, we learnt about teeth and the human digestive system. One of our favourite investigations involved exploring the effects of different liquids on teeth. We placed eggs, which represented teeth, in water, orange juice, milk and Coca-Cola. A week later, we examined the eggs and were fascinated to see how each liquid had affected them.

Trip to the Roman Festival at St Albans Cathedral
Our first trip of Year 4 took place in September, when we visited the Roman Festival at St Albans Cathedral to bring our learning about the Romans to life.
The children enriched their knowledge of Roman life through a range of hands-on experiences, including meeting a Roman soldier, handling artefacts during a blanket dig, making and tasting Roman food, and reenacting the story of St Alban.
