This week has been International Week at St Peters and Seals have enjoyed learning about Morrocco, Bangladesh, Germany, France, China, South Africa and Vietnam. The children received a passport stamp on entering each country and took part in a wide range of activities.
On returning to the classroom, the children completed a poster sharing some of their new knowledge about each country.
Today, the children took part in a whole school International Week assembly. Tristan, Olivia, Noah and Ada demonstrated their French speaking skills to the school and the whole class sang 'Alouette'. Also today, the children participated in a Djembe Drum session with Miss Hayden and in Art, they produced artwork inspired by Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian and American artist, Keith Harling.

Our feeling of the week this week is curious (feeling motivated to discover more details about people, places and things). Our feeling next week will be exhausted (when you have no energy left and feel unable to do anything).

This half-term in Art, we have been studying collage. The children have looked at some collage artists, experimented with different collage techniques and practised drawing cakes with lots of different toppings. The children's final piece of work was a cake stand with some collaged tasty treats, all made using their own collage paper. As you can see, their work is fantastic!

The children have been learning about teeth as part of our current Science topic 'Animals including Humans'. Last week, we set up an experiment to find out about the effects of different liquids on our teeth. We placed hard boiled eggs in coca cola, orange juice, milk and water for one week. The shell of the eggs represented the enamel on our teeth. Today we took out the eggs and were surprised by some of the results!
