Monday 17th November

This week we are focusing on being resilient.

Year 1 Foxes

Dylan J and Harry have both shown resilience in their learning in Reading and Writing, working hard both at school and at home to overcome difficulties and make good progress.

Year 1 Rabbits

Nilan has a positive approach to all tasks and perseveres until he has achieved  great results, even when the work is challenging.

Suhayla takes on every challenge with hard work and enthusiasm and remains positive even when things are difficult. Her resilience is allowing her to make great progress.

Year 2 Owls

Jad is nominated for always taking part in lessons and completing tasks with great enthusiasm and not giving up when things are challenging. Jad bravely shares his ideas, makes a mistake but then corrects it with a positive attitude.

Zainy - For showing fantastic resilience when we were rebalancing subtraction calculations in Maths. Zainy kept going, he listened carefully and worked hard with an adult to complete his work. Well done for not giving up and ending the lesson with a proud smile.

Year 2 Robins

Sofia is such a resilient member of Robins. She consistently shows determination, a positive attitude, and the ability to keep trying even when tasks are challenging. Her perseverance and cheerful spirit make her a great role model in our class.

Lyra shows outstanding resilience. In DT particularly this week, she carefully redesigned, fixed problems, and tried again whenever something didn’t work. Her positive attitude and determination helped her create a successful final design and inspired her classmates.

Year 3 Wrens

Erin is determined to try her hardest in every lesson. She gives every task her best effort but is also greatly supportive of others around her.

Thomas tackles tasks with a smile and tries his very best. His resilience shows through in his creativity, finding different ways to solve a problem.

Year 3 Otters

Arfan has been trying really hard to remember the meaning of tricky words when reading with an adult. He shows brilliant resilience by listening carefully and recalling the definition at a later time.

Isla is nominated for performing her Gymnastics routine with her partner brilliantly, despite being hesitant at first. Isla pushed through her fears and gave us a fantastic performance.

Year 4 Kingfishers

Lucy has consistently demonstrated resilience in our Maths lessons. She approaches each task with determination, attempting to solve it independently before seeking assistance if needed. When she asks for help, she listens attentively and asks thoughtful questions to deepen her understanding, ultimately gaining the confidence to complete the task on her own.

Isabel has shown remarkable resilience in catching up during our Literacy unit. Although she missed several lessons in our recent poetry unit, her hard work and determination enabled her to produce a beautifully illustrated and thoughtfully completed poem today.

Year 4 Seals

Bongani and Callum both regularly impress their teacher with their resilience. They are both extremely hardworking and they never give up even when they find a task challenging.

Year 5 Geckos

Phoebe showed incredible resilience during the Year 5 drama workshop. She'd had a difficult time last week but brushed this aside, got involved and had a successful session on Friday.

Alex showed resilience through the way he responded to something he found frustrating. He dealt with the disappointment, found an appropriate and mature way to return to a positive mindset and was then able to continue as usual.

Year 5 Swallows

Beau has worked very hard in all subjects but has particularly blossomed in Maths, demonstrating resilience when approaching tricky questions.

Philip has shown resilience in a variety of ways this term. In particular, his approach to swimming. He keeps going with a smile on his face, even when it gets tough.

Year 6 Puffins

Arthur is nominated for his resilience with all of his learning. Whatever Arthur is presented with in class, he looks on it as an exciting learning opportunity and a chance to learn something new. He always responds to feedback from an adult with a smile on his face and recognises that it has been given to him to help him progress.

Awele has made huge strides with her resilience in class, particularly in Maths. She can see the potential she has as a learner and is now going that extra mile to help herself be successful with her learning. Awele takes on board feedback and uses it really well to move her understanding on.
